Nanuqsaurus is a fascinating member of the tyrannosaur family from the north of Alaska, where fossils of this prehistoric creature have been found. 'Nanuq' is the Alaskan Iñupiaq word for 'polar bear', while 'saurus' is Greek for 'lizard'.

Fossilised skull remains of the Nanuqsaurus were found in 2006 and proved that the species had lived in a polar habitat. It's estimated that they were approximately six metres long and weighed around 1000kg. This lifelike model is presented in a stalking position, so it can sneak up on unsuspecting prey!
