Buttonbag

Creative kits in a suitcase, where skills and stories begin.

Crafting isn’t just about glue, thread, or beads. It’s about the quiet pride of making something with your own hands and Buttonbag captures that joy perfectly.

Buttonbag specialises in beautifully packaged, all-in-one kids’ craft kits that make creativity simple, portable, and endlessly rewarding. Each kit comes in a charming miniature suitcase, making it as delightful to give as it is to use.

Children can design jewellery, make friendship bracelets, or try their hand at knitting, sewing, or cross stitch. Every kit includes clear step-by-step instructions and all the materials needed, so there’s no frantic hunt for missing supplies, just the fun of getting started.

Here’s the clever part: Buttonbag isn’t just about “keeping kids busy”. It’s about building skills, patience, concentration, and creativity, while giving children the joy of creating something they can keep, wear, or gift. For beginners, it’s a gentle entry point into crafts; for families, it’s a way to turn rainy afternoons into memory-making workshops.

Because the things children make with their own hands aren’t just projects, they’re keepsakes, stories, and sometimes the start of a lifelong passion.

FAQs

What makes Buttonbag craft kits different from other children's craft sets?
Buttonbag kits come in charming miniature suitcases that make them portable and perfect for gifting, while including absolutely everything needed for each project. Unlike basic craft sets, these are designed as complete learning experiences with clear step-by-step instructions, quality materials, and projects that children can actually keep, wear, or gift to others.
Which Buttonbag kit is best for a complete beginner to sewing or knitting?
The basic Buttonbag Sewing Kit and Knitting Kit are ideal starting points, as they're specifically designed for beginners with simple patterns and full instructions. For children wanting to try multiple skills, the Bumper Sewing Kit or Bumper Knitting & Crochet Kit offer more variety and projects to build confidence across different techniques.
Do the felt animal kits like Penguin Family and Sleepy Friends require actual sewing skills?
These felt kits are designed for beginners and use simple hand-sewing techniques that children can easily learn. The Rainbow Friends kit is even easier as it's completely no-sew, while kits like Penguin Family and Sleepy Friends teach basic stitches through fun, manageable projects that build sewing confidence.
What's the difference between the regular craft kits and the 'Bumper' versions?
The Bumper kits contain significantly more materials and multiple project types - for example, the Bumper Sewing Kit includes both cross stitch and embroidery projects, while the regular Sewing Kit focuses on basic sewing skills. Bumper kits are perfect for children who want to explore different techniques within the same craft area.
Are Buttonbag kits suitable for group activities or just individual crafting?
While each kit is designed for one child to complete, they're excellent for family crafting sessions where adults can guide and help. The clear instructions and complete material sets make them perfect for turning rainy afternoons into shared creative time, and many projects like friendship bracelets are naturally social activities.
