Requiring just one step, condensed milk is the secret ingredient to making this top-notch no-churn ice cream.
Ingredients
Half a 397g can of sweetened condensed milk
600ml pot of double cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
Step 1

Rainbow Ice Lollies
An easy way for little ones to get their five-a-day, this super simple ice lolly recipe is bound to impress.
Ingredients
Black and green grapes
Strawberries
Blueberries
Tinned peach slices
Sugar-free lemonade
Method
Step 1
Cut the fruits into small pieces.
Step 2
Place and order the fruits in the ice lolly moulds to your taste - remember to fill up the fruits close together so they don’t move.
Step 3
Pour the lemonade into the moulds and fill them. Gentle tap the moulds to get rid of any air bubbles or trapped air.
Step 4
Put a lolly stick into each mould and pop inside the freezer for about 2 hours before serving.
Fizzy Chocolate Cubes
Ingredients
For the ice cream:
500ml carton chilled, ready-made vanilla custard
200g bar dark chocolate, melted
1 ripe banana, mashed
For the coating:
2 x 5g packets popping candy
300g (10oz) dark chocolate, melted
You’ll also need:
Ice cube trays (1-2)
Ice lolly sticks (20-24)
Method
Step 1
To make the ice cream, warm the custard and stir in the melted chocolate and banana.
Step 2
Then, spoon the mixture into the ice cube trays. When the mixture is cold, pop the trays in the freezer and leave to set until nearly solid, then insert a lolly stick into each cube and leave to set fully.
Step 3
When set, stir the popping candy into the melted chocolate for the coating.
Step 4
Remove the ice cube trays from the freezer and take out the frozen cubes. Dip each cube into the melted chocolate and drain off the excess. Put them on a baking parchment sheet until set (it will happen quite quickly). Serve immediately.
Strawberry Ice Cream
Perfect for those with a sweet strawberry tooth, this ice cream is full of deliciousness. Make sure there’s an adult on hand to help with some of the steps.
Ingredients
250g strawberries
Juice of a lemon
250g caster sugar
200ml water
4 large egg whites
A pinch of cream of tartar (bextartar)
300ml cream, whipped (amounts to about 500ml of whipped cream)
Method
Step 1
Puree the strawberries and lemon juice in a food processor (with the help of a grown-up). Alternatively, you can mash them with a fork and make sure there are no lumpy rough edges.
Step 2
Remove the seeds by pushing the puree through a sieve.
Step 3
Put the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat slowly, making sure to dissolve the sugar.
Step 4
Once the sugar has dissolved, get an adult to boil the mixture on a high heat for 9 minutes until thickened (and the liquid is like a sticky piece of thread).
Step 5
Get a grown-up to use an electric whisk and whisk the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff.
Step 6
Whilst whisking, get a grown-up to pour in the hot syrup and whisk until the mixture is cool, glossy and firm (about 4-5 minutes).
Step 7
Fold in the strawberry puree and whipped cream.
Step 8.
Pop in the freezer to freeze overnight.
