If you’ve been anywhere on social media lately, you’ll know that NeeDoh is having a massive moment. From the viral NeeDoh Nice Cube to the iconic NeeDoh Gumdrop, these squishies have become the "must-have" fidget toy in both the US and the UK.
Bigjigs Toys is the official distributor of NeeDoh in the UK, and we know how much you want to get your hands on these squishy sensations… We keep selling out! We are working closely with the NeeDoh team at Schylling to improve long-term availability, but this surge in popularity has unfortunately led to a rise in counterfeits online and in physical stores. It can be difficult to tell the difference between a high-quality glob and a fake NeeDoh, so we’ve put together this handy guide to help you stay safe and avoid any pesky scams.
NeeDoh: Real vs Fake
Spotting a knock-off isn't always easy at first glance, but there are some tell-tale signs to look out for. While genuine sensory toys from the NeeDoh range have a specific weight and a high-quality "skin," fakes are often described as being far too sticky or having a weird, "jelly-like" texture.

How to spot a knock-off NeeDoh:
- The Logo Test: This is the big one. Most genuine NeeDoh products will have a NeeDoh logo on the base where the seal is and below that the official Schylling logo. Not all will say NeeDoh on the bottom, but will have the Schylling mark.
- The Smell: Open your senses! Authentic NeeDoh doesn't have a strong scent, but a fake NeeDoh often carries a distinct, unpleasant chemical odour, some even say it smells like petrol (yuck!)
- Texture & Consistency: Real NeeDohs have a firm, satisfying "memory foam" squish. Counterfeits are often greasy or sticky to the touch, full of air bubbles, or far too soft and "jelly-like."
- Packaging: Legitimate NeeDoh fidgets for kids come in high-quality branded boxes. If yours arrives in plain plastic wrap or a flimsy, unbranded bag from sites like AliExpress or Temu, it is likely a counterfeit.
- Where it’s from: NeeDoh products in the UK will say on the packaging that they are distributed/imported by Bigjigs Toys or will have a sticker on it saying Bigjigs Toys, Folkestone (that’s us, we’re very proud of it!) NeeDoh DO NOT sell directly from China to the public. If you don’t recognise the name of a shop online, don’t purchase any ‘needoh’, check before you buy!

Why should I avoid fake NeeDoh?
While a cheap counterfeit might look tempting when the NeeDoh Nice Cube is sold out elsewhere, these fakes can be dangerous for your health, and you won't get the same quality of care.
Counterfeit squishy toys are rarely safety tested. Legitimate stress balls for kids undergo rigorous checks to ensure they are non-toxic and durable. Fakes often contain unregulated, harmful chemicals and are prone to breaking or leaking their filling within days. Staying authentic means staying safe.
Where can I buy NeeDoh in the UK?
Legitimate NeeDoh UK stock is distributed by us here at Bigjigs Toys. Because they are the ultimate fidget toy, becoming a viral sensation on TikTok and other social media sites like Facebook, demand is currently outstripping supply globally, which is why NeeDohs are so hard to find.
We receive regular drops, and you can also find genuine products at trusted retailers like Waterstones, Hobbycraft, and many wonderful independent toy shops. Just ensure you have gone through our checklist to verify the product is the real NeeDoh brand and not a knock-off.
